PELVIC FLOOR WORKSHOP

6th December, 10AM or on playback

With Karen Ellis, Postnatal Recovery Expert and Former Midwife

All the information you should have got from your midwife about how to recover your pelvic floor and body PROPERLY after having a baby and how to exercise SAFELY so you can smile with excitement and enjoy the moment when your toddler takes your hand and pulls you towards the bouncy castle instead of the feeling of dread taking over as you decline their invitation.

And so you can have dry knickers!

Although this is a Pelvic floor workshop I also cover Diastasis Recti (abdominal separation) and how to return to exercise safely. If you have had a baby, this is exactly what you need to recover your body.

Oh, and yes! If you are pregnant - even better. Please do come.

  • Wants to exercise again but doesn't know how to do that whilst looking after your body post pregnancy and birth (vaginally or c section).

  • Has lower back and/or pelvis pain.

  • Has heard about abdominal muscle separation (Diastasis Recti - which happened during your pregnancy) but doesn't know how to heal it. Or has never heard about it - then definitely come!

  • Wants to recover your body properly so you can feel confident that you will be strong and have an old lady body that can still run around with the grandchildren.

"Make a choice today that your future body will thank you for as it easily carries your toddler

By the end of the workshop you will....

  • Feel super confident that you are doing the pelvic floor squeezes (kegels) the midwife gave you correctly and know what the next steps are to making your pelvic floor strong so you don't end up having to kegel for the rest of your life.

  • Learn that there are two sets of muscles in your pelvic floor (One set at the back of your pelvic floor and one at the front) and learn how to use both sets of muscles. It is common that women do not connect with the muscles around their urethra (where you pee from) during pelvic floor connection. Don't let this be you.

  • Know how to heal your abdominal muscle separation from pregnancy so your core can finally be strong again.

  • Feel confident about what you need to do whilst you exercise to look after your pelvic floor and stomach. So you can stop worrying about exercise and start to look forward to building your pelvic floor, core and your body strong.

  • Have a plan of what to do next time you cough, laugh, sneeze to help your pelvic floor manage the pressure and stop letting pee out.

Still not convinced? Don't just take it from me.....

About Me

Karen Ellis - Postnatal Recovery Expert

I am Karen, Midwife turned Postnatal Rehabilitation Coach right where I am meant to be helping new mums build a post baby body they feel strong in and supports them in all of their adventures with their littles.

I call bull on all of the quick fixes when it comes to postnatal fitness. Your body is precious and needs nurturing back to fitness in its own time. For some that will be 21 days for others it will be 21 months. There is no rush. Done right it will serve you for the rest of your life.

I am mum to a 10 and 17 year old and live in gorgeous Brotton, near Saltburn on the East coast. This is where I became a midwife. After several years of feeling beaten by the system that didn't allow me to give the care women deserved I trained in Postnatal and Antenatal fitness and baby wearing to serve new mums in my own way. I am here to support you and hold your hand on your journey to feeling confident with and proud in your Postnatal body.
